Yao Hailan is a research fellow, graduate supervisor, Senior Technology Manager, and Director of the Office of Technology Innovation and Commercialization at the Capital Institute of Pediatrics (Capital Children's Medical Center affiliated with Capital Medical University). Holding a Ph.D., she manages the institute's innovation platform development, intellectual property, and technology commercialization. After securing a Beijing municipal grant for technology transfer platforms, she built an end-to-end commercialization service system to drive the clinical and market application of the institute's research. Her own research focuses on pathogenic microbial infection and immunity. A 2013 visiting scholar at the University of British Columbia, she has led multiple research projects, including key R&D initiatives for the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Beijing Natural Science Foundation, and has published over 30 papers, including SCI-indexed articles.
