Sergio Mujica, a Chilean national, holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and a Master's degree in International Law from American University in Washington D.C. He has served as the Secretary-General of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) since 2017.

He has long been committed to the construction and promotion of the international standards system, leading the publication of the ISO Strategy 2030, which is highly aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. He has played a key role in advancing the development of international standards in frontier fields such as global trade facilitation, digital transformation, climate action, and smart cities, providing crucial support for global industrial synergy and sustainable development.

Meanwhile, he serves as an advisor to multiple international organizations and think tanks. He frequently attends high-level international dialogues, including the World Economic Forum and relevant UN meetings, making outstanding contributions to the development of international and regional standardization.

Previously, he held prominent positions such as Deputy Secretary-General of the World Customs Organization (WCO), Director General of International Economic Relations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Chile, and Deputy Representative of Chile to the World Trade Organization (WTO). Having participated in numerous major international trade and economic negotiations and the formulation of key agreements, he possesses extensive experience in global governance.
