Professor Barry J. Marshall, Nobel Laureate in Physiology or Medicine, Foreign Associate of the U.S. National Academy of Sciences and Foreign Member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, was awarded the Chinese Government Friendship Award by the State Council in 2015 and received the International Science and Technology Cooperation Award of the People's Republic of China in 2024. He currently serves as a Professor at the University of Western Australia, Director of the Marshall Centre at the University of Western Australia, and Chief Expert of the Joint Laboratory for Biomedical and Innovative Drug Research at the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
