Dr. Yao Weihao serves as the Director of the Office of Science and Technology Development at Peking University (PKU), overseeing the university's technology transfer initiatives. He has played a pivotal role in various aspects of technology transfer, including establishing transfer systems, fostering joint research and development platforms with enterprises, managing intellectual property rights comprehensively, nurturing and managing high-value patents, facilitating off-campus research institutions, supporting enterprise incubation, managing technology transfer funds, and building technology transfer institutions. Dr. Yao has been actively involved in policymaking and implementation, amassing valuable experience in cultivating a unique ecosystem for technology transfer at PKU. Furthermore, Dr. Yao holds distinguished positions such as membership in the Consultation Experts Committee on Capacity Building for Technical Managers under the Ministry of Science and Technology, Deputy Secretary-General of the Steering Committee of Science and Technology Service Guidance within the China Higher Education Association, Chairmanship of the Alliance of Beijing Universities’ Technology Transfer, Vice Chairmanship of the Zhongguancun Association of Technical Managers, and Vice Chairmanship of the Beijing Technology Market Association. Through his multifaceted roles, Dr. Yao has made significant contributions to the field of technology transfer.
